WordPress Integration
Install Consentio on WordPress in just a few minutes
Plugin Installation
Consentio offers an official WordPress plugin that simplifies installation and management of the cookie banner.
Download and Installation
- Download the plugin (ZIP file)
- In the WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin
- Select the downloaded ZIP file and click Install
- After installation, activate the plugin
Plugin Settings
After activating the plugin, go to Settings → Consentio.
Linking Your Account
To link the plugin with your Consentio account, enter the Script Key:
- Log in to the Consentio dashboard
- Go to Settings → Installation
- Copy the Script Key (starts with
ck_) - Paste the Script Key into the WordPress plugin settings
- Click Save Settings
Multilingual Websites
The plugin automatically detects the language from Polylang or WPML. The cookie banner will be displayed in the current page's language.
If you do not have a multilingual plugin installed, the default WordPress language will be used.
Settings Synchronisation
All cookie banner settings (design, texts, categories) are managed in the Consentio dashboard. The WordPress plugin automatically uses the current settings without needing an update.
Troubleshooting
Cookie Banner Does Not Appear
- Check that the plugin is activated
- Verify that the Script Key is entered correctly
- Clear the WordPress cache (if you are using a caching plugin)
- Check the browser console for any errors
Conflict with Other Plugins
If you have another cookie plugin installed (e.g. GDPR Cookie Consent, CookieYes), deactivate it before installing Consentio to avoid conflicts.
Cache Issues
If you are using a caching plugin (WP Super Cache, W3 Total Cache, LiteSpeed Cache, WP Rocket), clear the cache after activating the Consentio plugin.
