Installation
Detailed guide to installing the Consentio widget on your website
Requirements
Consentio does not require any special software or dependencies to work properly. The widget works on all modern browsers:
- Chrome 60+
- Firefox 55+
- Safari 12+
- Edge 79+
- Opera 47+
Obtaining the Installation Code
After adding your website to the Consentio dashboard, you will receive a unique installation code. You can find it under Settings → Installation.
<script src="https://consentio.cz/widget/YOUR_SCRIPT_KEY/consentio.min.js" async></script>
YOUR_SCRIPT_KEY value is unique to each website.
You can find the key in the dashboard under Installation. Do not use a code from a different website.
Code Placement
Insert the code into your website's HTML. We recommend placing it in the <head>
section for the fastest loading:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
<head>
<meta charset="UTF-8">
<title>My Website</title>
<!-- Consentio - insert as early as possible -->
<script src="https://consentio.cz/widget/YOUR_SCRIPT_KEY/consentio.min.js" async></script>
<!-- Other scripts after Consentio -->
<script>/* Google Analytics etc. */</script>
</head>
<body>
...
</body>
</html>
Alternative Placement
If you do not have access to the <head>, you can insert the code just before
the closing </body> tag. The banner will appear slightly later, but functionality
will be preserved.
Verifying the Installation
After inserting the code, you can verify the installation in several ways:
1. Visual Check
Open your website in an incognito browser window. The cookie banner should appear.
2. DevTools Console
Open Developer Tools (F12) and check the console. You should see the message:
[Consentio] Widget loaded successfully
3. Network Tab
In the Network tab there should be a successful request to app.consentio.cz/widget/.../consentio.min.js
with a 200 status.
4. Consentio Dashboard
Your website's dashboard should start showing visit and consent data.
Troubleshooting

- Check that the code is correctly inserted (it should be visible in the page source)
