Why banner design matters more than people think
A cookie banner is the first thing a visitor sees. If it looks confusing, aggressive or like it was copy-pasted from a 2019 forum thread, it erodes trust before anyone reads a word of the actual content. Many sites still run banners they downloaded as a template years ago and never adapted: both a conversion problem and a GDPR consent validity problem.
The Consentio visual editor is built so that two rules hold at the same time: the banner has to look good and it has to be legally correct. EDPB Guidelines 03/2022 on deceptive design patterns explicitly forbid a hidden "Reject" button, unreadable contrast, multi-step rejection flows or pre-ticked boxes. The designer simply will not let you build any of those: colour pickers enforce contrast, and the "Reject" button always carries the same visual weight as "Accept all".

Create an account and add your site
